SHOCKING footage has emerged online showing what looks like Iraqi civilians staging a suicide bomb attack on a public road.
[DS] The clip – which is just over two minutes long – shows an unidentified man walking away from a nondescript car and climbing into a truck.
But as he casually drives away in his truck, the car explodes in an empty street, sending dust and shrapnel flying.
Moments later – as the fire in the car rages on – a group of apparent civilians run over to the wreckage and lay down on the ground around the shrapnel.
The whole incident looks like an attempt to stage a fatal car bombing attack.
As the supposed victims lay on the ground around the car appearing to be in pain, another man arrives and helps load the “casualties” into his van.
The CCTV footage is timestamped as being from October 30.
Since being uploaded to video sharing website eBaums, the clip has been viewed almost 30,000 times
One viewer commented on the site: “War propaganda at an all-time high.”
But another commenter disagreed, saying: “Might as well be an exercise. Ever thought about that?”
Car bomb attacks do appear to be on the rise, last month a car bomb struck at a popular British holiday resort in Turkey.
And just weeks before that attack, a deadly car bomb went off near the presidential palace in Mogadishu, Somalia.
