A video is making the rounds of something positive for once: a really beautiful moment when a dog is reunited with its owner, after an incomprehensible three year search for the dog to no avail.
A 62 year old man from Georgia named Giorgi Bereziani lost his dog Jorge three years ago. Most of the time when anybody loses a dog, really loses them and they aren’t the type of animal who will return to their home and understand how to do that, the situation is futile unless somebody finds the dog within a fairly short window of time.
However, this was a special situation. The owner of the dog received a phone call one day from an opera house worker in Tbilisi, Georgia, to inform him that there was finally a dog they found that matched the description of his missing puppa. The dog was laying in front of her store.
In the video, the man approached the dog to see if it was really her, and he said “It looks so much like him, can you see him?”
He moved closer and called out the puppa’s name like he probably used to. “Jorge!” he called out. “Can you see him? Here. At the base of the tree. Jorge? Jorge it is you!”
As soon as that happy dog heard the name he jumped up and ran toward the man in pure joy. It’s such a true moment, this is what life is all about.
For years the owner tried putting up posters and doing as much work as possible to try and find his beloved dog.
Reunited with his dog the man says “Aww sweet boy, how are you boy. What is it? What do you want? Sweet boy.”
One article comments: “All the while the dog lets out the most heartbreaking whine, showing he’s truly missed his master. In the video, which has been viewed on Youtube more than 500,000 times, the dog has a yellow tag on his ear meaning the local authorities thought he was a stray dog, took him in, vaccinated him, they considered him harmless, then released him back out on the street. Giorgi, now very emotional, turns to the shopkeeper and says: ‘He’s been lost for three years!'”
The opera house person is shocked to see the scene unfold, so she asks “That’s your dog?”
Of course it’s his beloved dog, he replies “Yes, he is my yard dog. I’ve been looking for him. He recognized me, can you imagine? Can you take a photo of us?”
The man and his dog lock into the realest bond between a human being and an animal and continue to play. Giorgi continues “They called me, told me that my dog might be here.”
Any person who has tried owning a dog or raised a puppy can tell you, once you feel the love, almost nothing in life compares to it. People can get so connected to dogs, it’s like having a child. Dogs can be pure joy.
