Pink Stops Concert To Comfort Grieving Fan Whose Mother Recently Passed Away

An American pop artist named “Pink” was performing in Brisbane, Australia recently when she stopped mid-concert to comfort a grieving fan who had unfortunately lost her mother recently.

As part of the “Beautiful Trauma” tour, 14 year old Leah Murphy attended the show on Tuesday, August 21. She originally purchased tickets to see Pink live with her mother, who she said would have loved to hear the music, if she had lived to be able to.

Leah’s mother, Debbie passed away last month. In a quote to Yahoo, Leah explained that she and her mother used to sing along to Pink’s songs, and dance around the house.

The 14 year old’s aunt Katrina ended up taking her to the concert instead, and they brought along some signs designed to capture Pink’s attention.

One sign read:

“My name is Leah – I’m 14 years old. I lost my beautiful Mom last month. I would LOVE a hug…Please! [sic]”

According to Unilad:

“Katrina and her aunt took a few different signs with them, in the hope members of the crowd would see and help to get Pink’s attention.

Pink read the message over the microphone to the audience before heading down into the swarm of fans, before reaching for Leah in order to give her a hug.”

In a quote to ABC, her aunt Katrina explained:

“Once Pink got down to the quiet music she was looking out to the crowd, that’s when I started waving the sign.

I had strangers in the crowd grab them off us as well and start waving them. It was just enough for Pink to say, ‘what is that?’

She couldn’t read it, but someone handed her a little brochure about Leah and she read it out.”

This is the type of emotional environment pop artists try and create all the time. They love people at their shows to admire them so much, and look to them during moments of extreme hardship in life.

This pop star belongs to “the clique,” so to speak, when it comes to mainstream artists. According to Wikipedia:

“On August 27, 2017, Pink received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. She also performed a medley of some of her hits, including her new single, “What About Us”, before accepting the award, which was presented to her by Ellen DeGeneres. “What About Us” reached number one on the Adult Pop Songs chart, earning Pink her ninth leader on the chart, breaking her out of a tie with Katy Perry for the solo female artist with the most number-ones in the chart’s history and placing her in second place amongst all acts. “Beautiful Trauma” was released on November 21, 2017, as the second single from Beautiful Trauma to less commercial success, reaching top thirty in Australia, the United Kingdom, France, and Scotland. Although it only managed to peak at number seventy-eight on the Billboard Hot 100, it topped on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. On December 5, 2017, Hip-hop artist Eminem revealed that Pink would be collaborating on the song “Need Me” for his ninth studio album Revival.”

It would appear as if “Pink” belongs to the same group of cliques as her peer, Katy Perry: “the cliques” of Hollywood, if you know what I mean.
